Ironic, isn't it? We spend about twenty/twenty five years of our lives trying to complete our education, aim for a Master's or a PGDM, etc. only to realize that we're never to use it again when we hunt for a job.
Okay, let me give you a little backstory about why I have brought this up.
With all that I have grown up learning, I have ended up working in places I'd barely known of- companies with backgrounds I'd never thought I'd be working for.
For example - Last year, I joined this Sports Agency- where I worked as a Marketing Manager who ended up loving on-field executions. I'd travelled to cities where I'd worked on-ground, making sure; along with my team, we'd rule the event out with success. As much as I'm grateful to that agency for trusting me with the roles I'd worked there - I was incredibly sad when it shut down recently.
While I'm writing this and simultaneously am looking for an opportunity that's going to let me pave the way in order to help me settle down, I'm wondering, what is it that I like or much rather, What is it that I want to do? Do I enjoy being a marketing manager? Do I enjoy being an executor on-ground? Do I enjoy working in sales? Do I want to be working from home or from the office? Or Do I want to change my Field ALTOGETHER - I might have these answers but the answers that I have will probably bring in tiny amounts of income and years of delay.
All of this seems weird, doesn't it? Figuring things out is tough. Figuring life out is tough-especially when there are ample doors that are open for you (which you don't want) and doors that aren't- you crave.
I know some people out there just KNOW what they want to do with their lives and they end up achieving it and that's great, Woohoo! But there are also some that are still figuring it out and I happen to be one of them - Woohoo! Again. I'm happy though.
I'm happy that I get to explore, experience, and understand what is and isn't for me- it may take time but that's okay.
As long as my hope doesn't end and the learnings don't, I'm good.
